Rhododendron Tour

The Milke Danda (25 km long high forested ridge) region blooms with some of the most spectacular rhododendron forests in the world. There are over twenty varieties found in the trek area, and the forests are usually in full bloom in April. Efforts are underway to have it declared a national park. One can take a stimulating two week trek with about six hours of walking every day in the region and explore the cloud forests as well.You will come across fascinating little villages where Sherpas, Chetris, Tambas and other ethnicCloser to Kathmandu, just a six hour drive away is Dhunche at an elevation of 2,000 meters. One can begin a trek here for the upper areas of the Langtang Valley. Nine species of Rhododendron can be seen in this region. The best time is late March to mid June, and in addition to the Rhododendron, spring blooms of wild poppy, magnolia and primrose will make the trek memorable.
 

ITINERARY

Day 01 : Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Tour briefing -Overnight at hotel. B.B. 

Day 02 :
  Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley of the world heritage sites (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, 
Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel. B.B. 

Day 03  :
  1 hr flight to Biratnagar (eastern terai 260 m) – 4 hrs drive to - Basantapur 2400m +- O/N tented camp.

Day 04   :
   
Trek to Chauki Bhanjyang : Trip for 6 hrs hik over,  Bhanjyang through rhododendron forest, The first view day of Mt. Makalu and  Kumbhakarna Himal-Kanchenjungha. O/N tented camp. 

Day 05  : 
  Trek to Gupha Pokhari Day walk aong the hill side throu tropical forest. Arrives at the lake bank situated in the
middle of the rhododendron forest cover hill top- O/N tented camp.  

Day 06  :
  Trek to Nundhaki Trek through the green hill forest covered by the 47 different family of the rhododendron trees.

Day 7   :
    Milke Danda: 3 hrs trek through the forest area to Milke Danda for the Panorama view of the Mt. kanchenjungha, 
makalau, mera, and Jaljala Himal-valley and other green hills view towards south and west O/N at tented camp. 
Day 8    :   Mayam: 5 ½ hrs trek down to a cultivated land exiting out of the rhododendron wide forest. Over night camp at a
small settlement of the mix ethnic tribes. 

Day 9   :
   Chainpur 1600 m 6 hrs walk though the cultivated lands and many local villages - Multicultural experience O/N
at tented camp. 

Day 10  
   Tumlingtar 937 m. Day walk in low land, reach cultivation and low land but high trees forest area cross Sabhaya 
river, Camp in between Shawa and Arun River. Evening f well dinner with the local porters and cultural groups. O.N at tented camp. 

Day 11   :
   Kathmandu: Morning or, afternoon 1 hr flight back to Kathmandu-Transfer to Hotel on BB plan.

Day 12   : 
  Kathmandu: Day for leisure or, for shopping or, optional tour to any world’s heritage sites. Fare well diner with
he cultural programs. 

Day 13   :    
Departure: Transfer to TIA airport for departure to home country or, on ward journey. Program end.
