Everest Base Camp Trek

When the trails of Nepal were opened after 1950's, Everest Base Camp became the premier goal for many adventurous walkers. This stunning trek visits both the base camp and KalaPatthar a viewpoint recognized as the best point to see Mount Everest. You start your trek from Lukla after a 30 minute flight from Kathmandu. After landing the tiny airstrip, the adventure really begins. From Lukla you trek north through pine forest to the bustling Sherpa capital, Namche Bazaar. When you ascend, the alpine scenery becomes more rugged and climb above the tree line to reach Dingboche in the Imja valley for further acclimatization and exploration. It is then a steady ascent, following glacial moraines, to Lobuche and then on to your lodge at GorakShep. From here you ascend to the summit of KalaPatthar for brilliant views of Mount Everest and a breathtaking 360-degree beauty of the world's highest mountains. Then trek to the historic site of Everest Base Camp before returning to Lobuche and starting your journey back to Kathmandu.
